Who
will be successful in
Read
Right?
Individuals
diagnosed with dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and learning disabilities,
as well as English Language Learners and students who have
simply fallen behind have been transformed into effective,
confident readers through Read Right. Elementary, middle school,
junior high, high school—even adults—benefit equally.
How
can you get
Read
Right
telephone tutoring for your child?
Read Right
is on the State-approved list in Alaska,
Florida, Hawaii, Texas and
Washington as a Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider
and additional state approvals are pending. The school
will provide Read Right
telephone tutoring free of charge to you as required by the
No Child Left Behind legislation.
How
does it work?
Your child will be assigned to a Read Right Certified Tutor.
She will determine the starting range of books to be sent to
your home, depending on the severity of the reading problem and
the age of the student. The tutor will have a matched set of
books and will phone your child at a pre-arranged time four
times per week and tutor him or her over the phone. The tutor
will guide your child through a reconstructive reading process,
applying strategic techniques designed to help your child
construct a new system in his or her brain for efficient and
effective reading. The tutor will talk to you regularly to keep
you informed about your child’s progress, and you will be sent a
written report every month.
How
will I know the process is working?
You will see a difference in your child’s reading within the
first month.
Why
does
Read
Right
work so quickly?
It is based on research into how the brain learns a process and
what the brain does when it reads well. Read Right unleashes
the power of your child’s brain to do what every brain does
naturally: learn! Just think of everything your child
has learned since birth—how to talk, sing, walk, ride a bike,
and so much more. Your child already is an excellent
learner!
