    Note: In brief, the stimulus money affecting education was divided into three parts: (1) state stimulus funding; (2) race to the top funds (state competitive grants in 2 phases) and (3) innovation grants (competitive grants that are available to 501(c)(3) organizations and to community colleges). Community colleges are able to apply directly for innovation grant money.
